Ten Home Styling Tips
Home improvements can be expensive but we bring you ten top tips that can make a difference and do so without you having to pay through the roof.
Ten cheap improvements
1. Paint! One of the best improvements that you can make to any room of your home is to paint it. Paint is relatively cheap and most of us have the expertise to do the work ourselves, meaning that we won't have to hire in expensive additional help.
2. Clean! Cleaning can be really boring but it does make a massive difference. You'll often find that a good, deep clean can save you from having to spend more on home improvements.
3. Make your own. Creating something yourself could be a great way to save money. You could try anything from curtains and cushions, to pieces of furniture.
4. Recycle. Is there a piece of furniture that you don't like? Could you use it for something else rather than get rid of it?
5. Create a centre-piece: Any room can look considerably different if it has a new focus of attention. You could choose anything from an electric fire suite to a coffee table.
6. Ask a friend. Do you have friends who are creative? That might be able to offer inspiration and may even give you a hand with some improvements.
7. Sort out the garden. The first thing that people see when they arrive at your house will be the exterior. If you've got a tidy garden then it creates an immediate, positive impression.
8. Move things around. Rather than buying new items, why not think about what you already have. You can transform rooms simply by moving objects like pictures, mirrors and pieces of furniture.
9. Get rid of things that look out of place. Are you aiming for a modern, contemporary look in your home? Maybe it's being undermined by one particular object. If so, you know what to do!
10. Looking in second hand shops. There are some real bargains to be found in these shops. Don't just walk by - step inside and see what's on offer.
